Just because we are vegans or vegetarians doesn’t mean we want to miss out on all the delicious and fun food over christmas and the holiday period right? This is where a show stopping, party dish like this vegan chocolate wreath bread comes in! If you’re looking for food gifts, or fancy holiday breakfasts, this chocolate wreath bread has you covered. The bread keeps well in a sealed container for up to three days, although I would try to gift it on the day it’s made.
Working with yeasted doughs is my favourite kitchen pastime, especially making sweet breads like this one. This recipe does take a little bit of effort, but that’s kind of the point of christmas food, you take care over it, then bear it triumphantly to the table, to ooohs and ahhhs.. The centrepiece of the show needs to be pretty, and impressive. The crumb in the bread is really nice and I’d gift/serve it unreservedly to vegans and vocal non-vegans alike. They won’t be able to tell. If you’d like, chopped hazelnuts or walnuts would be an excellent addition to the filling.
