When I first heard about vegan french toast, I really had no clue how you could make this happen. I mean french toast is just so…..eggy. Like…how would you achieve this without eggs?
I wanted to make a vegan french toast recipe a) to see if it was in fact possible to make french toast without eggs, and b) to come up with my own variation to share with you all, as I know there are already a lot of vegan frenchy recipes out there.
Perfect for Sunday mornings when you want something special for breakfast but nothing too complicated to make. I just love how something that is so simple to make and ready in a flash can taste this indulgent!
You will love this vegan french toast for it’s perfectly sweet taste and mix of subtle flavours, its texture, and how quick and easy it is to make, only around 20 minutes or less from beginning to end, which is the way I like it.
Many people like to use a thickly sliced whole grain bread when making french toast, but this recipe works well with just about any kind you choose.
Served plain or with some maple syrup it’s a pretty fine breakfast indeed! Just whisk up the wet ingredients in a bowl, slice up some bread into thick sturdy slices, dip it in the wet mix (both sides) and then fry it in a hot frying pan. It’s crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, with a deliciously light flavour.
Ok, time to make all of your brunching dreams come true….Let’s do this!
Invite over a friend or two and make a french toast party out of it! Who would ever turn down french toast, anyway? That’s what I wanna know. (If they do, you need new friends. I’m sorry, somebody had to say it, Rhonda.)
