Salted Caramel Bliss Balls

What do you get when you combine dates, almonds, and coconut? Pure bliss...balls! Energy balls, bliss balls, protein balls, energy bites - these quick and easy healthy snacks are my go-to when I need a boost of energy or a mid-afternoon snack. They are a healthy, nutritious snack to have throughout the day. Keep a container of these in the fridge to enjoy with a tea or coffee, pack them in the children’s lunch boxes or keep a container in the drawer of your desk to provide a quick pick-me-up.

And the good part about these energy balls is that they're made with wholesome plant-based ingredients. One thing I love about making these types of vegan bliss balls is that they are just so damn easy to make. I’m talking a food processor and the press of a button easy to make. It’s practically magic. How’s that for fast food!?

Salted caramel is, without doubt, one of my favourite flavour combinations. However, it usually includes a lot of unhealthy, sugar-laden ingredients. So, it is with a great deal of pleasure that I can enjoy these healthy little balls of energy without guilt. To be completely honest, if there is any recipe or something on a menu somewhere with the words “salted caramel” in the description, there is a high chance I am going to be drawn to it.

So, this is a recipe i had been working on for some time. I truly feel delighted when I make this recipe – it satisfies sweet cravings, gives me my salted caramel fix, and can be quite filling. The caramel flavour comes from the dates — it also adds a natural sweetness. These salted caramel bliss balls are healthy, refined sugar free, dairy free and just as delicious as the real-deal salted caramel.
