A gorgeous golden loaf today. This is a super easy vegan turmeric bread recipe that requires only one bowl to bake this beautiful, soft, moist, spiced loaf. So the idea for this recipe as an afternoon tea snack was a good one worth experimenting with (required two tries but I made it! ). A good play on flavours, both savoury and sweet, and spices frequently used in Indian cuisine. It’s a really wonderful savoury bread packed with flavour but also has that lovely homey sourdough undertone. The turmeric gives it a bright, almost neon color, and the zaatar an earthy taste.
This turmeric bread is ultra easy, simple and makes for such a great sandwich bread. Even if you are not into making homemade bread, you should still try it. The recipe is so straight forward without any complicated steps. if you use too much turmeric it makes everything bitter so make sure to take small amount rather adding 1 tablespoon turmeric in a single curry or turmeric latte. Homemade bread – done right – is magical. the distinct lack of preservatives is a wonder to behold. Knowing that your own strength and persistence have been invested into the dough makes that final bake tastier than any loaf you’ve ever bitten into.
